Haki Çako, Director General, General Directorate of Civil Emergencies, Ministry of Defence, Republic of Albania, toured the New Jersey National Guard’s 21st Weapons of Mass Destruction-Civil Support Team at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., July 31, 2019. The 21st WMD-CST supports civil authorities at man-made or natural disasters by identifying chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear substances, as well as assess the consequences, and advises on response measures. In 2001, the Republic of Albania signed a bilateral affairs agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense and New Jersey officially establishing the New Jersey-Albanian State Partnership Program.
