Bank Street Charity Invitational nets more than $100,000.00 for various charities

A tradition that began with NAAC’s Hands of Hope, lives on – Founder and President Richard Lukaj applauds the continual support friends, colleagues and clients

Bank Street’s 2017 golf tournament resulted in over $100,000.00 netted for a number of charities, proving once again its fundraising power and consistency.
“I appreciate and applaud the many years of support our colleagues and clients have contributed to enable us to give to organizations throughout our community and beyond”, said Richard Lukaj, Bank Street Group’s founder and Senior Managing Director.
AUK/RIT Kosova, Action for Mothers and Children and St George’s Cathedral in Boston, which have been supported by Mr Lukaj for many years were among the main beneficiaries from this event
Nominally, the Invitational is running for a third consecutive year now, but it’s a continuation of much older tradition in a new format and organization.
“In the years since we first started this annual golf tradition supporting the Hands of Hope initiative under NAAC until today, we have proudly supported numerous worthy organizations with over $1 million in grants from these activities and our grants have been steadily increasing (over $100,000.00 just this June alone) from this single event,” Lukaj said.
The National Albanian American Council was a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advocating for Albanians and promoting peace and economic development in the Balkans.
The Stamford-based, Bank Street Group is a leading investment banking firm serving the technology, media and telecommunications sectors. Its annual Charity Invitational tournament is impressive also because of the quality of participation, the diversity of the causes, the openness and flexibility in choosing the charities, and honestly based on everyone’s feedback a great day of fun and entertainment.
The regular venue is the Burning Tree Country Club, a private golf club “that places high importance on the creation of an open and family oriented environment”. Founded in 1962, it has hosted US Open Qualifiers and Met PGA events. Completed with an 8-lane 25-meter pool with a diving well, Har-Tru tennis courts and event dining options, this is clearly one of the best in the country.
