Henry Hysenagolli kicks off a new chapter in his life

Young Albanian-American from Staten Island joins Madrid-based soccer club in Spain

New York-born, Albanian-American new talent, from Staten Island, Henry Hysenagolli has just signed with CD Leganes, a Madrid-based soccer club in Spain.

Only 18 years-old, Hysenagolli has already made his mark in international soccer, by representing Albania U-19 national team in 2019.

Born in March 15th, 2002, the young virtuoso was kicking ball in Staten Island pitches and impressing scouters at only 6 years old. His start was at Staten Island United which became Cedar Stars.

He grew up to join FA Euro in Brooklyn, where his success saw him promoted from U-23 to the club’s USL League Two team.

Two days ago, Henry kicked off his European adventure by signing with CD Leganes.

“An emotional moment for me and a dream come true, I’m very excited to officially say I signed for @cdleganes and have taken a new chapter in my life!” Henry wrote on his Instagram account.

CD Leganes has gone through one of the best periods in its history, spending four years in the famous La Liga and even knocking off Real Madrid in the last semifinals of the Copa del Rey (Spanish National Cup), with a win for the ages, 2-1, at the impossible Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The young talent, from our community, will have plenty to learn in his new club while also contributing to their rich history.

Proud of his Dibran origin, Henry knows who supported him up to this stage and made sure to let them know in his Instagram post: “I wanna say thank you to my family for always being there for me and wanna say thank you for always supporting me and my dreams love you guys ❤️. New team, new goals. Proud to say I have a new home 🇪🇸 Time to put in the work and make everyone back home proud 🇺🇸 also wanna give a big thank you to @superiorsquadinternational @peterkhalife @safrout10 @morris.pagniello.” (Illyria)
